Our speaker is to be Kyle Danley CFO for the Des Moines water works. Thanks very much Ray! Please RSVP to myself so I can let Ray know how many to plan for by Sunday evening and even Monday works too. president@warrenikes.com or call/text to 515-229-7418. Archery range news is we have targets setup out on our range now! The range is from 20 yards out to 100 yards so members come on out and make use of this just in time to get yourself sighted in for your Fall hunts. Please remember no broad heads on these bags as they will cut and destroy them. Also in archery news the Mid Iowa Archers had their Scheel Shoot and another large crowd showed up and had a great time. Member elections were held at the August member meeting. Not any change there except for our rifle chair will be a different Scott! Scott Huston has been a long time member and user of our rifle range and was asked to help out because other Scott Wendt had to step away. Thank you for the years of service Scott W. Looking forward to seeing you on the range as you have time. Fall Trap Leagues have completed 2 weeks of their 6 week league and the Fall youth and College teams are back in the swing too. We will be ordering another semi load of clay birds to finish out this fall as they have been loaded up to the brim in the trap houses about 2 weeks ago. Watch for a post as the opportunity will be here to help unload the birds and then get some into the house's too. This will likely be posted on a Facebook announcement so if you haven't asked to be a friend do so and if it has been awhile go out and like us so that we can be in your feed again. There are 3 weekend shoots planned too, 1 by Grandview College and 2 by the Indianola Trap teams as well. Watch the calendar for range closure's as these happen. As many of you know this has been the 100th year Anniversary of the National Izaak Walton League. We are going to be having a celebration on our chapter joining this organization at our October the 18th Membership meeting. We will have our guest speaker from the National Ikes Heather Wilson as she is the Save our Streams director. We will be gathering at 5pm for drinks and eats then a meal at 6pm is planned with a Pork Loin dinner, cheesy potatoes, salads and desserts. Silent auction items will be on site along with a few other auction items too. Proceeds from the auction will be for the Ike's 2nd century campaign to keep the momentum going for conservation efforts. RSVP for the October meeting is very important as we do not want to run short on meals. You can reach me at email president@warrenikes.com, my phone to text or a message is 515-229-7418.
