We have our membership meeting Tuesday March 15th at 6:30. Gerald Ancell our 2nd VP will be providing us with a soup supper. Speaker will be our very own 1st VP Warren Gardner an expert in Firearms and Archery Instructor. Topic will be on Trigger Squeeze and Control along with CUP Pressure There is going to be a work day at the Ikes range on Sunday March 20th. This is headed up by the Mid Iowa Archers to get their trails and archery areas prepped for the opening 3D shoot on the second weekend of April the 9th & 10th. If any of our members would like to meet as well to help spruce up around the grounds that would be appreciated I am sure. We need to get a few things done if the weather is good that day to paint some of our boards and trim on the building. There is a constant stream of young shooters using our grounds already with the weather permitting. And it will only get busier with our spring trap leagues that will start with sign up on Monday April 11th for 25 Bird with practice times that night and a 6 week league following. Fees will be $41 per person and team fee is $205. Trap rounds have gone up a dollar to $6 for leagues and Open shooting for members. 50 Bird League will be on Wednesdays this spring with signup on the 14th of April. I expect the fees to be double since shooting 2 x the birds of course. Please check in with Kevin King or Kevin McCombs for the 50 Bird League. An update on the Archery Range is we have the approval of the board to get the large square targets to setup for the various distance to be used. We are in hopes to have this done for our State Convention to show it off to the many chapters from around the state. We will also be setting up our rimfire targets for a Friday night early bird gathering for something to do. So members, come on out for our Friday night get together at the Ikes. Please watch out for your Iowa Division Newsletter with the State Convention. If you have questions please get a hold of myself at president@warrenikes.com or my sister Lisa McIntyre lmcintyreiaikes@yahoo.com.
